The best time to experience Vermont is between May 1st and October 30, unless your purpose is to ski. The Summers are mild here in the central valleys. Highs in the 70's and lows often in the 40's at night -- a fire in your own fireplace is often most pleasant in the evenings.

The most colorful time is between September 15 and October 20, when the trees are turning. Vermont is one of only a few areas in the world that possesses the combination of large deciduous forests, sweet soil and weather conditions that result in natures most colorful Fall palette.

The second most colorful time is May -- less crowded too! The same trees that change to many colors in the Fall, show us many shades of green in the Spring. Lilacs abound. And the smell of the first cutting of hay is like nothing else!
